 Angela Tarantini

Dr Angela Tiziana Tarantini is Marie Curie Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Modern Languages and Translation at Cardiff University. Her research focuses on translation, theatre and performance. Her current research project seeks to analyse sign language interpreting in music and live concerts as a performative practice which aims to translate music into a visual art form accessible to Deaf and hard-of-hearing signers.


Irene Fiordilino

Irene Fiordilino is a choreographer and researcher at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance; she is also the director of the emergent Scirocco Dance Theatre Company and associate director of London International Screen Dance Festival. Irene’s original artistic methodology - Transitory Architecture - sits in the space between choreography and architecture: the intention is to bring into the fore the relation between bodies and space, questioning the aesthetics and the politics of cohabitation. Irene is a PhD candidate in creative practice at Trinity Laban and works as a guest lecturer, speaker and teacher internationally. 


Joanna Chojnicka

Joanna is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at Cardiff University, working on the project "Trans in Translation: Multilingual practices and local/global gender and sexuality discourses in Polish transition narratives". She obtained her PhD from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland in 2012 and has worked in Marburg, Konstanz, Bremen, Lüneburg and Poznań before relocating to Cardiff in September 2021. Her current project follows her previous postdoctoral work on femininity, masculinity and sexuality as well as attitudes towards the LGBTQ+ community in media discourses of Central and Eastern Europe.
